Ferro-vanadium prices lost further strength on Friday October 18, as reports emerged of a significantly weaker market.

Metal Bulletin’s in-warehouse Rotterdam quotation fell to $24.50-25.50 per kg on Friday, marking the lowest level since August, and a considerable drop from highs of about $33 earlier in the year.
根據英國《金屬導報》報價顯示，周五歐洲釩鐵鹿特丹港口報價下滑至24.5-25.5美元/千克，這是自8月份以來的最低水平，也是繼本年初期釩鐵價格實現33美元/千克后的較大下調。

Metal Bulletin’s in-warehouse Rotterdam quotation fell to $24.50-25.50 per kg on Friday, marking the lowest level since August, and a considerable drop from highs of about $33 earlier in the year.

“Ferro-vanadium has taken a bit of a hit recently. We’ve seen a tender in Germany for about 10 tonnes, which should be going at quite a good number, but we’ve heard they want [less than $25.50],” a trader said.
“最近釩鐵產品價格遭受較大沖擊。早些時候，我們聽說德國市場出現10噸的批量成交，成交價格本應該有個較好的水平。但是，我們聽說采購商給出的詢盤價格在25.5美元/千克以下”，一位貿易商表示。
“[For 10 tonnes], the trucking cost is higher, so it should have had a premium.”

It is now impossible to conclude business at levels close to $26, market participants said, as even the most bullish begin to adapt their views.

“It’s a real battle. I find an enemy everywhere I go. I’ve heard about business [below $25.50],” a second trader said.

Prices regained some strength as the summer period in Europe ended, but have weakened steadily since the beginning of September.

Further falls are expected before the end of the fourth quarter as participants look to destock into the year end.

“When you get to this low range, it creates problems for some producers, in terms of cost of production – we’re very close to the cut off in terms of margins,” the second trader said.
